Role Overview
Los Angeles Apparel is seeking a Private Label Production Assistant to support our Production team. This is a full-time, entry-level, on-site position based in South Central Los Angeles, offering incredible opportunities to learn about apparel manufacturing and product development in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong critical thinking and analytical skills, who is comfortable applying their knowledge across different domains and working collaboratively with multiple teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Head of the Private Label Department and support the team on day-to-day operations.
- Interface daily with clients and internal departments.
- Oversee samples, specs, lab dips, and costing for current and future productions.
- Input Purchase Orders (POs) into the ERP system.
- Invoice sample orders upon delivery and facilitate the TOP (Top of Production) approval process.
- Communicate cross-functionally to manage production schedules, monitor progress, and problem-solve to ensure on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with shipping teams to maintain accurate inventory and packing lists.
- Manage sewing teams to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Conduct quality control and risk assessment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (Product Development or Production Management specialization preferred).
- At least 1 year of apparel production experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with ERP/PLM systems.
- Strong understanding of garment construction and familiarity with knit textiles (Fleece, Jersey, Rib, etc.).
- Passion for the apparel industry and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, open-minded approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work late nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Fluency in Spanish (speaking and understanding).
- Familiarity with screenprinting techniques.
Compensation
$17.87 - $20.00 / hour
